Therapy Treatments

Swedish Massage

A gentle massage with moderate pressure using techniques to promote wellbeing. Long, gliding strokes, firm kneading and percussion-like tapping techniques will be applied by hands and palms providing appropriate pressure to aid circulation and ease tension.

Ideal for: People who require a purely relaxing experience for the whole of the body.

Deep Tissue Massage

Focuses on deeper layers of muscle using heavier pressure than Swedish Massage, to help ease muscular tension. Deep Tissue Massage assists in the healing of muscles. Techniques are applied with hands, forearms and elbows to manipulate soft tissue for maximum tension relief.

Ideal for: People suffering with muscle stiffness and soreness, caused by daily stresses and work routines.

Sports Massage

A Deep Tissue Massage that includes an injury consultation. A full postural consultation and appropriate muscle testing will look at joint range of movement to assess any areas of pain. Stretching and neuro-muscular techniques will be used to restore movement and improve functional fitness.

Ideal for: People with repetitive strain injuries, chronic pain and pain caused by sporting injuries.

Sports Therapy & Rehabilitation

A complement to your Sports Massage treatment. Rehabilitation exercises will be discussed and developed to form an individually tailored programme, which can be carried out at home to improve function and reduce pain. Each programme will be reviewed regularly to achieve full functional fitness.

Ideal for: People wishing to return to fitness following injury.

Somatics

A restorative method of movement that helps the brain reconnect with muscles to eliminate pain brought about by habits, injuries or accidents. The movements are gentle and effective. Somatic exercise tuition aims to empower the patient with skills to encourage pain free movement. Sports massage may also be used here.

Ideal for: People with chronic pain, movement restrictions and those who have suffered physical trauma.

Having used numerous sports therapists over many years of weight lifting, boxing and martial arts training, I have finally found someone whose anatomical knowledge knows no bound. Becca was the first sports therapist to finally solve an ongoing shoulder problem. She is professional, considerate and personable. I have no hesitation in recommending her to anyone

When I first went to Rebecca in December 2013 I was in so much pain I could hardly walk. Having suffered with musculo-skeletal pain for over 25 years, made worse by a back injury and failed back surgery in 2007, I can honestly say that Rebecca has offered the most effective treatment I have ever had, I really don’t think I would have been able to stay in employment without her. I am her number one fan and recommend her to everyone I meet.
